Anat Fort Trio: The Berlin Sessions

March 3rd marks the release of a new DOUBLE-album from the Anat Fort trio, entitled “The Berlin Sessions”. Recorded while on tour in Germany last April, the trio was very excited to play gain after they have not seen each other for over two and a half years. The result is something they have never done before: A double album which includes, beyond the typical mix of original composition and free improvisations, some covers. Covers of some 80’s pop tunes they all grew up on, a cover of “Oseh Shalom”, the famous Jewish prayer and even the iconic standard “All the Things You Are”. Here’s the first video from the recording of that beautiful Hammerstein/Kern tune, re-imagined here by Anat Fort, Gary Wang and Roland Schneider at Hansa Studios, Berlin and released on Sunnyside Records.
